3. It's easier to act kind, than it is to act mean. --Philosopher

11:00am - 12:00pm
11:00am
I. Wallenstein, Friedrich Schiller
1. When the doctor examined the patients, he had a gentle, delicate touch.
2. "Sensible to the magic touch of art, And delicate of feeling, quick to capture the fleeting apparition of the spirit."
3. Are those its twitterings?
4. twitter - (of a bird) give a call consisting of repeated light tremulous sounds.
5. For swiftly flits the actors' wondrous art Before our sense, leaving not a trace, While mark of sculptor's chisel and the song Of poets live a thousand years and more. Here, when the artist dies, his spell dies with him
6. ...so he must sieze the moment quickly...win recognition from the world he lives in, And in the best and noblest minds erect Himself a living monument, that here And now he may enjoy his fame immortal.
7. The poet bold to leave well-trodden paths, And carry you beyond the confines of Domestic life, on to a wider stage, that will be worthy of the momentous times in which we live and work.
8. In narrow confines men grow narrow too, But greater when their goals are higher set.
9. So art upon its shadow-stage, may strive for higher flights, or yield in shame before the stage of life.
10. Crumbling before us in these days we see The old, assured, familiar form, that once, one hundred and fifty years ago, gave Europe's kingdoms, precious fruit of thirty years of war and suffering.
11. To bring those dark days back before your eyes...Into the middle of that war the poet will now transport you. Sixteen years of waste, of plunder and misery have sped. A dull fermenting mass the world still lies, No distant hope of peace can yet be glimpsed. The empire is a raging battlefield, Its towns a desolation, Magdeburg in ruins, trade and industry abandoned...
12. Against this sombre background of the times we see a bold and reckless enterprise take shape, a character of boundless daring. You know him - the creator of bold armies, the idol of the camp, the scourge of kingdoms, the prop and terror of his Emperor...
13. ...his character, as history portrays it; but art shall bring him closer, as a man, both to your eyes, and to your feeling hearts. For art, that shapes and limits all, will lead all monstrous aberrations back to nature...

10:00am - 11:00am
10:05am
1. If I go on tour to every major American city, and every major international country, for 30 days at each location, and give females there my sperm, then the world's population can grow even more. If you drive or fly me to a hotel or friendly house in your area, this can happen.

4:00am - 5:00am
4:45am
I. The Robbers, Friedrich Schiller
1. ...Because I am bored, and can find no pleasure at the chessboard.
2. I have always read that our being is just a motion of the blood, and when the last drop of blood has ebbed, with it go mind and spirit too...Our sensibility is the vibration of certain cords - and a broken instrument will sound no more.
3. Let a drop of water find its way into your brain, and your life makes a sudden pause, and that pause is like the end of being, and its continuation is death.
4. But your own heart, that beats with anxious dread against your ribs even as you utter your proofs, gives the lie to them. These spiders' webs of systems can be torn to pieces with the single word: you must die! - I challenge you, that shall be the proof...
5. Oh, I have seen many such wretches, who until that moment had defied the truth like giants, but in death their delusions fluttered away. I will stand by your bedside when you are dying - I should so like to see a tyrant die - I will stand there, and look you straight in the eye when the doctor takes your cold, damp hand, and can scarcely feel the limping, dwindling pulse, and with that fearful shrug of his shoulders looks up and says: mortal assistance is in vain!
6. No more! not a word more! am I to be at the mercy of your liverish fancies?
7. ascend up into heaven, and He is there! make your bed in hell, and He is there! say to the night: hide me! and to the darkness: cover me!
8. But I will compel him to annihilate me, I will provoke him to rage, that in his rage he will annihilate me.
9. Aha! - what, you know of none greater? Think again - death, heaven, damnation hang upon your lips - none greater than these?
10. Away! may a thousand catacombs swallow you up, screech-owl! who sent for you?
11. [Schweitzer is heard making a furious noise.]
12. Lord God, I have been no common murderer - Lord God, I have never stooped to trifles-
13. What? - you weep for him? here by this dungeon?
14. We can live in the country, or we can live in the city.
15. ...and without yielding a foot, and am I now to learn to quake like a woman? to quake before a woman?
16. It is only something caught from a woman - give me blood to swill, and it will pass.
17. ...what, you are weeping? Oh you wicked, wanton stars! She is pretending to weep, pretending there is a soul that weeps for me.
18. Stop, traitor! - Let go this arm straightway, or I shall tell you a word that will make your ears ring and your teeth chatter with horror!
19. ...what could be more just than that? - Do not roll your eyes like that - he has no need of me.
20. No friend? not a friend among these either? Then let Dido teach me to die!
21. You say that? The life of a saint for the lives of rogues, it is an unequal bargain, is it not?
22. And now, truly, it is no longer in my power to make up for the past - what is ruined, is ruined - what I have overthrown will never rise again.
23. The end.

2. I'm proud to be one of the only men in my family who has a beard.
3. It is easy for me to run, and running is normal for me.
4. It never ceases to amaze me, that a few easy runs can considerably increase the temperature where I live. I don't know the scientific explanation for it (oxygen/carbon respiration maybe), but it just takes a couple easy runs to increase the temperature here and make the earth more pleasant place to live. It is for this reason why I want to run in different areas across the earth, and improve the environment there.
5. Lately I have been running one lap at a time around the parking lot track where I live.
6. If you smoke cigarettes, then it can be helpful to coordinate your inhaling and exhaling of the cigarette, with your normal breathing, and the particular type of cigarette you're smoking.

2. The patient's neurosis included distorted thoughts about reality.
3. The patient's neurosis, characterized by a displacement with reality, could have caused the patient to harm himself or others.
4. The patient's neurosis included childlike behaviors.
5. The patient would sometimes become fixated on little sleights of the hand when engaged in discussions.
6. The patient would sometimes laugh and make irrational jokes.
7. The patient's neurosis was characterized by severe mood swings.
8. The doctor had tried to uncover the root of his patient's childlike behavior.
9. "As I made clear earlier, in this disorder repression does not take place through amnesia, but through the destruction of causal connections consequent upon the withdrawal of the accompanying emotion."
10. "It would seem that these repressed relationships retain a certain warning power - which I have compared elsewhere to an endopsychic perception - so that they are made to enter the outside world by means of projection and there bear witness to what has failed to occur in the psychic sphere."
11. "...and was apparently unable to say who had carried out the operation and whether one ovary had been removed or both."
12. "He was obliged to recall what had been forgotten and to establish what he had neglected to find out."
13. "The particular fondness that the patient suffering from obsessive-compulsive neurosis feels for uncertainty and doubt provides him with a motive...Such topics are pre-eminently paternity, life expectancy, the afterlife and memory - to which we generally give credence without possessing the faintest proof of its reliability."
14. "Obsessive-compulsive neurosis make substantial use of the uncertainty of memory in symptom formation; the role played by life expectancy and the afterlife in the content of the patient's thinking is something we shall shortly discover."
15. "First, though, as the most appropriate transition to that topic, I shall discuss the characteristic tendency to superstition in our patient, my earlier reference to which will no doubt have disconcerted more than one reader."
16. "I am referring to the omnipotence he claims for his thoughts and feelings, his good and evil wishes. It is certainly no small temptation to declare this idea to be a delusion that goes far beyond the limits characteristic of obsessive-compulsive neurosis; except that I have encountered this same conviction in another patient suffering from compulsive disorders who has long since recovered and now leads a normal, active life, and in fact all those suffering from obsessive-compulsive neurosis conduct themselves as if they shared this conviction"

My testicles serve positive functions: they produce sperm and help me orgasm, they regulate and normalize my mood and emotions, they provide a psychological understanding of right and wrong, and cause me to choose to do what is right. My testicles also give me a love of learning. Personal Statement
1. In pursuit of my doctorate degree in World Literature, one of my goals in life is to read as many books as possible in order to improve our lives. I am like the hero in many popular world folktales.
2. If I go on tour to run/jog a few days a week in different cities or countries, then this can benefit the atmosphere there, by making it warmer, making it rain, and making the flowers bloom.
3. I was born with two testicles, in my scrotum, unlike most men. My testicles serve positive functions: they produce sperm and help me orgasm, they regulate and normalize my mood and emotions, they provide a psychological understanding of right and wrong, and cause me to choose to do what is right. My testicles also give me a love of learning. It can be helpful if you compare my behavior to other men who have no testicles, and it can also be helpful to compare my behavior to animals such as dogs, horses, and monkeys, who do in fact possess two testes.
4. Having over 5,000 children with different females is one of my goals in life. I do not have to get them pregnant through intercourse, I can give them my sperm in other ways, every 24-48 hours, 365 days a year, for the next 20 years.

5. If I go on tour to every major American city, and every major international country, for 30 days at each location, and give females there my sperm, then the world's population can grow even more. If you drive or fly me to a hotel or friendly house in your area, this can happen.
6. I can give the senators in every major country in the world, along with females from these countries, 50 children or more. We will need homes, food and clothing, stores, teachers and professors, entertainment, etc. -- an entire industry, which will benefit our lives as well as the lives of others, and then we will all live happily ever after...
7. The chief of the tribe said, "I like you, you're a good young man. We want you to be a member of our tribe and start a family. But in order for you to be in a relationship with a female from our tribe, you must do certain things. You must be respectful of yourself, you must be respectful of your girlfriend and other tribe members, you must be respectful of the animals and of this land, and you must be respectful of our god."
8. The young man replied, "I will do what you ask of me. I want to be a member of your tribe, and have children with one of the females in your tribe. I can teach your daughter as well as the rest of your tribe, what I have learned reading books in pursuit of my university degree. While I am here, I can also learn new things that can help me, my girlfriend, and the rest of the members of your tribe. This knowledge can benefit all of us, as well as the rest of the people on earth."
